If the Grand California has been parked for a longer period of time and the vehicle has been in sleep mode, it is possible that camping mode can no longer be deactivated. The switch for camping mode then does not respond and it appears as if the function is blocked.
This problem occurs because the customer-specific function control unit (KFG) switches to sleep mode after a long period of inactivity. To reactivate the KFG, you can switch on a power consumer, e.g. the step, the tap or the interior lighting. As soon as the KFG is reactivated, it should be possible to switch camping mode off again via the control unit.
If the problem persists, camping mode can be deactivated at any time by switching the ignition key or starting the engine.
