TPMS mandatory for trucks from July 01, 2024

Since 2014, all new cars must be equipped with a tire pressure monitoring system, or TPMS for short, according to ECE-R 64(click here for the regulation). This did not previously apply to the VW Crafter and thus the Grand California, as the Crafter does not fall under the vehicle category affected to date. This meant that the tire pressure monitoring system for the Grand California always had to be ordered separately.

As the TPMS obligation will also be extended to trucks, including light commercial vehicles, from July 1, 2024, Volkswagen had to react. For example, TPMS has also been standard on the Grand California for a few weeks now.

Naturally combined with a price increase for the base vehicle… 😉
