Sad partner news – CAR ELECTRIC is insolvent

Unfortunately, we learned today that our partner CAR ELECTRIC filed for insolvency on 26.08.2024. We are not only extremely surprised by this news, but also deeply saddened by it.

We can only speculate about the background, but the fact is that an official application has been submitted to the court in Reinbek.

Resolution:

To secure the debtor’s assets against adverse changes (Section 21 (1) and (2) InsO)
provisional insolvency administration is ordered on 26.08.2024 at 13:30, Section 21 (2) sentence 1 no. 1 InsO. 2 sentence 1 no. 1 InsO.

The following is appointed as provisional insolvency administrator: Nicolas F. Grimm, attorney, Johnsallee 7, 20148 Hamburg, telephone: 040 45000-100, fax: 040 45000-311.

pursuant to § 21 para. 2 sentence 1 no. 2 Alt. 2 InsO that dispositions by the debtor are only effective with the consent of the provisional insolvency administrator.
This order also covers the collection of outstanding debts.

In the course of our research, we became aware that the main supplier for the self-sufficient pack, Koolen Industries, which manufactures the Super B brand batteries, also filed for insolvency on 29.05.2024.

In the end, we can only speculate, but the connection here is unfortunately obvious. We cannot answer whether and how the self-sufficiency package will continue to be sold.

Addendum: The company Koolen Industries Solar B.V. is only a subsidiary of Koolen Industries, which in turn is NOT insolvent!

We have an official statement from CAR ELECTRIC for you:

Insolvent does not mean incapable of acting! We are simply starting from scratch in the “provisional insolvency proceedings”. We will continue to work as usual and will be well looked after by Mr. Grimm. We will either continue to run the company on 1.11.24 or an investor will continue with us. We currently have 6 interested parties with whom we are in talks. It’s all very new, but we are all motivated and have our suppliers 100% behind us. But we also need our customers!
The insolvency of Koolen Solar BV is a subsidiary of the parent company Koolen Industries. Another subsidiary is Super-B. Super-B is not insolvent and has nothing to do with our insolvency.
We owe our insolvency to the house bank, which let us go under the knife. There’s no point in going into details. But it’s a challenge to understand what we really do.
It’s probably clear to everyone that as a small, medium-sized company, we can only implement innovations with banks or crowdfunding. Unfortunately, that didn’t work out this time.

I hope this brings some clarity and confidence to the group. Thank you for your understanding and support, also in the future! We are still there for you – also at the Caravansalon in Düsseldorf, where we are presenting our new display for the GC in prototype status. Why don’t you come around again? Then you can form an opinion as to whether you would have financed the project as a bank 😉
(one of four projects that we started this year)

Yes, the self-sufficiency package will continue to be sold. Service, installation, installation partner – perhaps a little slow over the next 2 weeks, but it will continue!

Kind regards, Martin Kaffka
