Ever experienced a dicey situation in your Grand California like this one:
We had a real scare last October on the way to Berlin, this truck almost hit us and who knows how that would have turned out. I’ve taken part in a few driver training courses in my life, and I did exactly the right thing at that moment. If I had braked, the collision would have been inevitable, because one lesson in driver training is, you always drive where you’re looking.
After that scare, we spent the rest of the ride talking about driver training and that it would be a good idea to organize something like that with Grand California’s only.
Et voila, that is exactly what we have now done.
Grand California driving safety training Grevenbroich
If this sounds exciting to you, read a little further. 😊
We know that motorhome driver training is nothing new and can be booked through ADAC at any time, but only with Grand California’s? Have not yet seen and put the whole thing in hand.
Still sounds exciting? Now here are a few facts and maybe you’ll really want to be there at the end.
When and where does the training take place?
Our driving safety training will take place on 22.07.2023 at the ADAC driving safety center in Grevenbroich.
The training starts at 08:30 and ends with a final meeting at 17:30.
What is the content of the training?
- Short introduction to the topic of driving safety
- Training of the emergency brake at different speeds
- Training of the emergency brake on different road surfaces
- Driving backwards slalom for optimal steering wheel control
- Driving physics: tires, tire age, air pressure, load and center of gravity
- Braking and avoiding electronically controlled water obstacles
- Getting to know limit ranges in the curve (tilting moment)
- Emergency braking in curves
- Brief wrap-up meeting
Catering on site
There is a restaurant attached to the driving safety center, where you can fill your belly during the lunch break.
Important points to consider
- Participation is with your own vehicle, it must be registered and comply with the rules of the StVZO. Vehicle insurance is mandatory.
- You must have a valid driver’s license for your vehicle.
- Seat belts are compulsory during training.
- There is only one driver per car, so it is not possible to change during the event. A maximum of one accompanying person is included per vehicle.
- Unfortunately, children under 15 years of age are not allowed to travel as accompanying persons.
- No animals are allowed on the premises and in the vehicle.
What happens after the training?
After driver training, we reserved a parking space for the entire group in the Eifel at the Vogelsang campground. There we can arrive in the evening and finish the day together.
How much does the fun cost?
The complete training including accompanying person and parking bay in the Eifel with supply and disposal costs 280 euro. To keep things simple, it doesn’t matter in terms of price whether a participant goes to the pitch afterwards or doesn’t have a companion with them. The price is always the same!
Please note that food and drinks are not included, these must be paid extra on site.
