The wait seems to have come to an end: the “new” Grand California can be configured on the Belgian Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles website.
The changes at a glance
1. the cockpit
The cockpit is, as expected, exactly like the Crafter facelift.
2. outside
New in the configurator are now black 16-inch alloy wheels.
What is also striking is that the chimney of the diesel heater still appears to be unchanged. This indicates that a new Truma 6D is not being used, but that it is still the old model.
3. interior
Little has changed in the interior; a new camper unit and a different tap in the kitchen can be seen in the configurator.
The Grand California lettering on the B-pillar is a nice detail.
4th motor

The downward adjustment of the engine output can be seen as a clear disappointment. A good 14 hp less than before the facelift. The engine no longer seems to meet the EU emissions regulations in any other way.
5. technology
The following points change in the technical equipment:
- The electric heating elements are now standard with gas heating
- The SOG venting system is also standard
- Preparation for Remote California functions (query battery, water, waste water level etc. via VW California App)
The following options are no longer available:
- Inductive charging cradle next to the seat bench
- WLan router
Anyone hoping for a lithium battery ex works will be disappointed. Nothing has changed here. We are curious to see what the vehicle looks like live and whether there will be one or two surprises.

Grand California Facelift
The Grand California is currently not configurable at Volkswagen. With the new Crafter models already on the road, it was only a matter of time
