#3 Jostedalsbreen Nasjonalpark

Our number #3 takes us to Norway, to be exact, to the Jostedalsbreen National Park.

Jostedalsbreen National Park is located in the south of Norway and has existed in its present form only since 1991. The Jostedalsbreen is the largest glacier on the European mainland and also the eponym of the national park. The untouched nature is very fragile, unfortunately there is not much left of the once so big and beautiful glacier, its ice has almost completely receded.

We were privileged to visit this national park, perhaps one of the most beautiful on the planet next to Yellowstone Nationlpark in the USA. Endless expanse and nothing but mountains, waterfalls and rivers.

There is a very special place here that we would like to share with you, not just the national park, but a place to sleep in the middle of the mountains.

An adventurous road to your destination awaits you. Leave highway 55 at Hafslo and turn onto the small road Fv337. From Hafslo it is about 30 kilometers until you reach the end of the single lane road, yes you read it right, single lane and yes there are buses and other campers, trucks and cars coming towards you. Shortly before the finish line, the asphalt road becomes a gravel road for which a fee is charged.

But those who do not shy away from this adventure will arrive in heaven on earth.
